 GABARITO

Last Monday morning, everything went wrong for me. First, my alarm clock didn’t go off. So I got up late and didn’t have time for breakfast, I just had a quick shower, got dressed in a hurry and run down the stairs to my car. When I tried to start the engine, I heard a terrible sound. The engine didn’t start instead there was just a clicking sound. "Great!", I said to myself, as I realized that the battery was flat. "But I'm sure I didn’t leave the lights on", I thought. I left the car in the garage and started to walk back up stairs to my flat. When I opened the door, I saw that the kitchen was full of water. You can imagine how felt when I discovered that! I went across to the sink and turned of the tap. "I guess you were in such a hurry that you forgot to turn it off," I told myself angrily. Anyway, I picked up the phone and called my boss. Of course, he wasn’t in the office as it was already 8:30, and we had an important meeting at eight. I  took a taxi and finally  arrived at work. When I sat down at my desk and looked at the clock on the wall, I got quite a surprise. The clock said a quarter to eight. Then I remembered that today was the first day of Autumn and that it was really an hour earlier than I thought after all !!

TRADUÇÃO

Manhã de segunda-feira passada, tudo deu errado para mim. Primeiro, meu despertador não foi. Então eu me levantei rapidamente e não tive tempo para o café da manhã, eu apenas tomei  um banho rápido, me vesti rapidamente e desci correndo os degraus até meu carro. Quando eu tentei ligar a máquina, eu ouvi um som terrível. A máquina não ligou. Ao invés disso, havia apenas um som clicando. “Grande"!, eu disse a mim mesma , quando percebi que a bateria estava baixa”. Mas eu estou segura de que não deixei as luzes acesas", eu pensei. Eu deixei o carro na garagem e comecei a caminhar de volta para os degraus para meu apartamento. Quando eu abri a porta, eu vi que a cozinha estava cheia de água. Você pode imaginar como eu me senti quando descobri isso! Eu fui para a pia e fechei a torneira. " Eu suponho que você estava com tal pressa que você esqueceu de fechar isto, " eu falei a mim mesma furiosamente. De qualquer maneira, eu apanhei o telefone e chamei meu chefe. Claro que, ele não estava no escritório como já era 8:30, e nós tínhamos uma reunião importante às oito. Eu peguei um táxi e finalmente cheguei ao trabalho. Quando eu me sentei a minha escrivaninha e olhei para o relógio na parede, eu tive uma total surpresa. O relógio mostrava ser 7:45. Então eu me lembrei que hoje era o primeiro dia de Outono e que realmente era uma hora mais cedo que eu pensei afinal de contas!!
